Google Earth is a fantastic educational site and can pass away many an hour. You will need to download and install it to your computer then you need to be connected to the internet to have a world tour earth.google.com. The images of Ireland on Google Earth are not fantastic but check out maps.live.com. Search for a larger city eg Limerick, then select the Bird’s Eye view, zoom in and wow you can see people on the streets. You can also change the viewing direction by clicking on the compass.

Our President has a website for kids www.araskids.ie which has some facts about the day in life of an Irish President! moneyville.ie is an online cyber world which the kids create for themselves - all with the primary aim of getting them to learn about money management.

An educational site which is famous worldwide for its content is the UK based Woodlands Junior School www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk. Lots and lots of help for 7-11 year olds but also useful facts for all ages.

For the younger surfers check out www.peepandthebigwideworld.com for some nice simple games. From the kids page on South Dublin Library website www.southdublinlibraries.ie there is a link to TumbleBooks - chose a book from their selection and it looks like a real book, they can read by themselves or have it read to them. There are also some foreign language books to help with learning that useful foreign language. See page 45 for some Christmas links.

And finally we all love Shaun the Sheep, check out his website for some humorous clips and activities www.shaunthesheep.com.
